Amorphophallus konjac ethyl acetate fraction is a specific extract derived from the *Amorphophallus konjac* plant, a species native to Southeast Asia with a history of traditional medicinal use. This fraction is rich in polyphenolic compounds, including isochlorogenic acid A, isochlorogenic acid C, apigenin, and chrysin. Research indicates that this fraction exhibits anti-cancer properties, primarily by inducing ferroptosis, a form of programmed cell death, in cancer cells. The mechanism involves increasing oxidative stress markers such as reactive oxygen species (ROS), malondialdehyde (MDA), and ferrous iron (Fe²⁺), while decreasing glutathione (GSH) levels. It also upregulates the expression of key ferroptosis-related genes, including heme oxygenase-1 (HMOX-1), CHAC1, and NOX1, with the identified bioactive compounds showing high affinity for HMOX-1. Studies have demonstrated its anti-proliferative effects in breast cancer and lung cancer cell models.
