Amosartan

Amosartan is a fixed-dose combination pharmaceutical drug primarily used for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure) and, in some formulations, hyperlipidemia (dyslipidemia). The original formulation combines two active ingredients: amlodipine camsylate (a calcium channel blocker) and losartan potassium (an angiotensin II receptor blocker). This dual mechanism helps relax blood vessels and lower blood pressure by blocking calcium influx into vascular smooth muscle cells and inhibiting the action of angiotensin II on its receptor. Extended formulations such as Amosartan Q add rosuvastatin (a statin for cholesterol reduction), while Amosartan XQ further includes ezetimibe for additional lipid-lowering effects.
