Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Amosartan Plus (HCP1401) is a fixed-dose combination therapy developed by Hanmi Pharmaceutical for the treatment of hypertension. It integrates three distinct antihypertensive agents: amlodipine, a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker (CCB); losartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB); and chlorthalidone, a thiazide-like diuretic. This triple-combination approach addresses hypertension through multiple physiological pathways, including peripheral vasodilation, inhibition of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS), and reduction of extracellular fluid volume via inhibition of renal sodium reabsorption. Amosartan Plus is specifically indicated for patients with stage 2 hypertension or those whose blood pressure is not sufficiently controlled by dual-combination therapies, offering a simplified dosing regimen to improve patient adherence and enhance cardiovascular risk management.
