Standard triple therapy is a first-line combination regimen used for the eradication of *Helicobacter pylori* infection. The therapy typically consists of a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) and two antibiotics: amoxicillin and clarithromycin. The PPI (such as omeprazole, lansoprazole, or esomeprazole) serves to reduce gastric acid secretion by inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase pump, thereby increasing gastric pH and enhancing the stability and efficacy of the co-administered antibiotics. Amoxicillin acts by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis through binding to penicillin-binding proteins, while clarithromycin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit. This regimen is traditionally administered for 10 to 14 days and is a cornerstone of clinical guidelines for treating *H. pylori*-associated peptic ulcer disease and gastritis.
