Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Milac** is an oral fixed-dose antibacterial tablet marketed by Shaimil Laboratories in India. Each tablet contains amoxicillin 250 mg plus cloxacillin 250 mg. Both components are beta-lactam penicillins that bind bacterial penicillin-binding proteins and inhibit peptidoglycan cross-linking, disrupting cell-wall synthesis and causing susceptible bacteria to lyse. Amoxicillin provides aminopenicillin activity, while cloxacillin is relatively resistant to staphylococcal penicillinase and adds activity against susceptible penicillinase-producing staphylococci. Milac is prescribed for susceptible bacterial infections. ([1mg.com](https://www.1mg.com/drugs/milac-250mg-250mg-tablet-471684))
