Overview

This is an investigational quadruple therapy regimen developed by researchers at the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori infection. The regimen consists of four small molecule drugs: amoxicillin (a beta-lactam antibiotic), esomeprazole (a proton pump inhibitor), tinidazole (a nitroimidazole antibiotic), and levofloxacin (a fluoroquinolone antibiotic). It is typically administered as a 5-day concomitant protocol where all four medications are taken twice daily. In clinical trials, this regimen demonstrated high eradication rates (approximately 92%) and was found to be non-inferior to longer sequential therapies while potentially reducing costs and improving compliance due to the shorter duration.
