Overview

AMP-110 is a recombinant fusion protein designed as an immune modulator for the treatment of autoimmune diseases. It is an Fc fusion of the extracellular domain of B7-H4 (also known as V-set domain-containing T-cell activation inhibitor 1), engineered to mimic B7-H4's natural ability to induce a co-inhibitory pathway that reduces inflammatory T cells. By targeting and modulating the B7-H4 pathway, AMP-110 inhibits T cell activation, particularly Th1 and Th17 cells, which are implicated in autoimmune pathogenesis. The drug was developed by Amplimmune (originator), with further development by AstraZeneca (previously MedImmune) and Daiichi Sankyo. Its primary indication has been rheumatoid arthritis, but it has also been considered for other autoimmune diseases such as lupus, multiple sclerosis, and Sjögren's syndrome[1][2][5][8].
