Overview

AMP-601 is a proprietary, early-stage biopharmaceutical compound being developed by Amplifica for the treatment of hair loss, specifically androgenetic alopecia and other forms of alopecia. The active agent in AMP-601 is SCUBE3 (Signal peptide-CUB-EGF-like domain-containing protein 3), a multifunctional signaling protein. Preclinical research has shown that SCUBE3 can drive the growth of normal hair follicles and potentially stimulate new hair growth when applied to skin. The mechanism involves stimulating molecular pathways that activate dormant or miniaturized hair follicles, promoting their transition into active growth phases. AMP-601 is currently in preclinical development and has not yet entered human clinical trials[4][7].
