Amphion Mouthwash

Amphion Mouthwash is a novel biomimetic material-based oral rinse developed for the adjuvant treatment of periodontal diseases, specifically stage I-IV periodontitis. Unlike traditional antimicrobial agents or antibiotics that may lead to bacterial resistance or oral flora imbalance, Amphion functions by forming a long-lasting physical barrier on the tooth surface and periodontal tissues. This barrier inhibits the adhesion and regrowth of dental plaque and prevents microbial recolonization following mechanical treatments such as scaling, root planing, and debridement. By acting as a physical shield rather than a chemical biocide, it aims to maintain the natural balance of the oral microbiome. The product is currently being evaluated in Phase 4 clinical trials by the Second Affiliated Hospital, School of Medicine, Zhejiang University, to assess its efficacy in plaque control and inflammation improvement.
