Overview

Ampligen (rintatolimod) plus durvalumab is an investigational combination therapy being studied primarily for the treatment of late-stage pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. Ampligen is a double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) and highly selective toll-like receptor 3 (TLR3) agonist immunomodulator, developed by AIM ImmunoTech, that aims to reprogram the immune system and enhance cellular immune responses. Durvalumab, marketed as Imfinzi by AstraZeneca, is a monoclonal antibody that acts as an immune checkpoint inhibitor targeting programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1), thereby enabling the immune system to recognize and attack cancer cells. The combination seeks to leverage both innate and adaptive immunity for improved anti-tumor efficacy. Clinical trials are ongoing in metastatic pancreatic cancer patients who have progressed after standard chemotherapy[1][4][6][7].
