Overview

AmpliPhage-004 is an investigational bacteriophage cocktail therapy being developed for the treatment of Clostridioides difficile (C. difficile) infection, leveraging lytic phages that specifically infect and kill C. difficile to reduce pathogenic bacterial burden while sparing the normal gut microbiota.[2][5][6][9][11] Initially developed by the University of Leicester and further advanced in collaboration with the University of Glasgow and Armata Pharmaceuticals (previously AmpliPhi Biosciences), the program has focused on characterizing phages active against a broad range of clinically relevant C. difficile ribotypes, including hypervirulent strains, and on completing preclinical efficacy and manufacturing work to support future clinical development in infectious disease indications.[2][5][6][9][11]
