Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Amplivax is a proprietary biological adjuvant used as an immunological enhancer in therapeutic HIV vaccine studies. Specifically, it has been studied in combination with HIV-1 antigen vaccine formulations such as Remune to stimulate and augment HIV-specific immune responses in people with HIV/AIDS. Amplivax is formulated as HYB2055 and is administered in a protocol involving emulsification in incomplete Freund’s adjuvant. Its mechanism involves immune system stimulation, particularly the enhancement of CD4+ and CD8+ T cell responses to HIV antigens. The compound has been evaluated in Phase I/II and Phase III trials for its safety and efficacy as part of combination immunotherapeutic strategies[1][3][7].
