**Amprenavir + nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs)** is a combination antiretroviral regimen used primarily for the treatment of HIV-1 infection. Amprenavir is a synthetic small molecule that selectively inhibits the HIV-1 protease enzyme, preventing the cleavage of gag and gag-pol polyprotein precursors, thereby producing immature, non-infectious viral particles.
