amprenavir + nelfinavir

**Amprenavir + nelfinavir** is a combination of two HIV-1 protease inhibitors used as part of antiretroviral therapy for the treatment of HIV-1 infection. Both compounds inhibit the HIV-1 protease enzyme, thereby preventing the cleavage of viral polyproteins, resulting in the formation of immature, non-infectious viral particles. Pharmacokinetic data indicate that coadministration does not require dose adjustment as nelfinavir increases amprenavir trough concentrations without affecting overall exposure to either drug[1][3]. Amprenavir was developed by Glaxo Wellcome, and nelfinavir by Pfizer.
