Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ampucare is a patented, polyherbal topical formulation developed by Venus Medicine Research Centre (the research wing of Venus Remedies) for wound healing and the prevention of amputation. It is primarily used for the clinical and home-care management of chronic non-healing wounds, diabetic foot ulcers, burn wounds, surgical wounds, and bedsores (pressure ulcers). The formulation is oil-based (available as a lotion or ointment) and contains extracts of *Azadirachta indica* (Neem), *Curcuma longa* (Turmeric), and *Trichosanthes dioica* (Pointed Gourd) as its key active ingredients. Ampucare exerts its therapeutic effects through a multi-pathway mechanism, including antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and tissue-regenerative properties. It promotes fibroblast migration, collagen synthesis, and angiogenesis, while modulating inflammatory pathways and scavenging free radicals to accelerate wound closure.
