Amritharishtam (also spelled Amritarishta or Amrutharishtam) is a traditional polyherbal Ayurvedic fermented liquid preparation (Arishta) widely used in Indian traditional medicine. It is primarily formulated with Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia) and Dashmoola (a group of ten medicinal roots), along with other supportive herbs and spices. The formulation undergoes natural fermentation, resulting in a self-generated alcohol content of 5% to 10% v/v, which acts as a natural preservative and enhances the extraction of active phytochemicals. Amritharishtam is traditionally indicated for the treatment of chronic and recurrent fevers, malaria, typhoid, and infections. It is also used to boost immunity, improve digestion, support liver function, and alleviate inflammatory conditions.
