Amrubicin + bevacizumab is a combination regimen of two anticancer agents used primarily in the treatment of advanced non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), particularly as a second- or third-line therapy. Amrubicin is a synthetic anthracycline and potent topoisomerase II inhibitor that disrupts DNA replication in cancer cells, leading to cell death. Bevacizumab is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody targeting vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), thereby inhibiting angiogenesis—the formation of new blood vessels that supply tumors. The combination aims to enhance antitumor efficacy by simultaneously inducing cytotoxicity and restricting tumor blood supply[1][2]. Clinical studies have shown promising disease control rates with manageable toxicity profiles for this regimen in pretreated NSCLC patients[1][2].
