AMS-1 is a preclinical monoclonal antibody developed by ZIP Zinc Therapeutics in collaboration with Cardiff University. It is designed to target zinc transporter proteins, which play a critical role in maintaining intracellular zinc levels that support tumor growth, cell signaling, and survival. By blocking these transporters, AMS-1 aims to disrupt zinc-dependent processes essential for cancer progression. The therapeutic is currently being investigated for the treatment of several solid tumors, including triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), anti-hormone resistant breast cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer, and melanoma. The development program is focused on moving the candidate toward first-in-human clinical trials.
