Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Amvalor Chrono is an approved antiepileptic medication developed and marketed by Arinna Lifescience. It is a controlled-release (CR) tablet formulation containing a combination of sodium valproate and valproic acid. The drug functions by increasing the concentration of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in the brain, primarily through the inhibition of GABA transaminase and the stimulation of glutamate decarboxylase. It also modulates voltage-gated sodium channels and T-type calcium channels. Amvalor Chrono is indicated for the treatment of various seizure disorders, including absence, myoclonic, and generalized tonic-clonic seizures, as well as for the management of bipolar disorder and migraine prophylaxis.
