Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Amviacin AP is a commercial generic fixed-dose combination (FDC) medication containing aceclofenac and paracetamol (acetaminophen), marketed by AMVIO (Amvia Biotech). Aceclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) of the phenylacetic acid class that acts as a preferential inhibitor of the cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzyme, thereby reducing the synthesis of inflammatory prostaglandins. Paracetamol is a widely used analgesic and antipyretic agent that is thought to act primarily in the central nervous system by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis. This combination is indicated for the symptomatic relief of pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal disorders such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. It is typically administered orally in tablet form and is part of a broader portfolio of commercial generic formulations produced by the company.
