Overview

Amvoryl D is a multi-ingredient oral syrup developed by Amvia Biotech for the symptomatic relief of cough, nasal congestion, and allergic symptoms. It combines five active components: dextromethorphan hydrobromide, a centrally acting antitussive that suppresses the cough reflex by acting on the sigma-1 receptor; phenylephrine hydrochloride, a sympathomimetic decongestant that stimulates alpha-1 adrenergic receptors to reduce nasal swelling; cetirizine hydrochloride, a second-generation antihistamine that selectively blocks H1 receptors to alleviate allergic reactions; guaiphenesin, an expectorant that increases the volume and reduces the viscosity of bronchial secretions to facilitate mucus clearance; and menthol, which provides a cooling sensation and mild local anesthetic effect via TRPM8 activation. This combination is typically indicated for treating symptoms associated with the common cold, bronchitis, or upper respiratory allergies.
