Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**AMY01** is an oral dietary-supplement enzyme preparation developed by AMYRA Biotech for non-celiac gluten sensitivity. It contains a proprietary tandem combination of two exopeptidases, also referred to as AMYNOPEP, designed to supplement intestinal brush-border peptide digestion. The enzymes degrade proline-rich gluten immunogenic peptides, including proteolytically resistant 33-mer gluten peptides, into smaller dipeptides and free amino acids, with the intended goal of reducing exposure to residual gluten peptides after inadvertent gluten intake while following a gluten-free diet. AMYRA has reported proof-of-principle clinical evaluation of the related AMYNOPEP preparation in healthy volunteers.
