Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AMYL-003 is a monoclonal antibody being developed by Amyl Therapeutics for the treatment of Down syndrome and Alzheimer's disease. Derived from the company's proprietary Pan-Amyloid Immunotherapy (PAI) platform, AMYL-003 is designed to target the cross-β sheet conformation that is common to multiple misfolded protein aggregates, specifically amyloid-beta (Aβ), tau, and alpha-synuclein. By binding to this shared structural motif, the antibody promotes the clearance of these toxic aggregates. AMYL-003 has been engineered to optimize brain penetration and minimize the risk of amyloid-related imaging abnormalities (ARIA), a common side effect of amyloid-targeting therapies. It is currently in the preclinical candidate selection stage.
