Drug intelligence / Profile preview
An Shen Jiao Tai Yi Zhi decoction is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formula composed of multiple medicinal components: cassia twig, oyster, Salvia miltiorrhiza, keel, vinegar glans plate, Acorus gramineus, radix curcumae, paeoniae alba, and licorice[1][2]. Each herb is believed to contribute to the decoction’s effects, such as calming the mind, regulating "yin-yang" balance, improving blood circulation, and enhancing cognitive function. In clinical contexts, this decoction has been studied for sleep disorders associated with Parkinson’s disease. Proposed mechanisms include anti-inflammatory actions, modulation of neurotransmitter levels (notably norepinephrine, dopamine, 5-hydroxytryptamine), reduction of homocysteine and interleukin-1β, and improvement of sleep architecture[1]. The formula is typically administered orally as a decoction twice daily. Currently, this formula is mainly used within traditional Chinese medicine practice, and scientific evidence remains limited to clinical studies in China[1][2].
