Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AN7 is a **histone deacetylase inhibitor (HDACi)**, specifically a small molecule derivative of **butyric acid (butyroyloxymethyl-difluorobenzamide)**. It is an investigational anticancer drug designed to inhibit histone deacetylases, enzymes that regulate gene expression by modifying chromatin structure. HDAC inhibitors like AN7 can induce cell cycle arrest, differentiation, and apoptosis in cancer cells. AN7 has shown preclinical activity against several tumor types and has been studied for its synergistic effects with other anticancer therapies, including chemotherapeutic agents and radiotherapy. It is not approved for any indication as of October 2025 and is in early-stage (preclinical or phase 1) investigation.
