Overview
Anaprazole sodium is a novel, orally administered small molecule proton pump inhibitor (PPI) developed for the treatment of acid-related gastrointestinal disorders. It acts by inhibiting the gastric H+/K+-ATPase enzyme in parietal cells, thereby reducing gastric acid secretion. Anaprazole sodium has been shown to be effective and well-tolerated in clinical trials for duodenal ulcer, with a favorable safety profile and potentially better liver tolerance compared to some existing PPIs. It is formulated as enteric-coated tablets and was first approved in China in June 2023 for the treatment of duodenal ulcer. Clinical studies have also investigated its use for esophagitis, peptic ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Helicobacter pylori infection, and stomach ulcers[2][5][7][8].
