Overview
A combination therapy consisting of anastrozole, a non-steroidal aromatase inhibitor, and eribulin, a microtubule inhibitor. Anastrozole works by reducing estrogen production in postmenopausal women by inhibiting the aromatase enzyme, while eribulin inhibits the growth phase of microtubules without affecting the shortening phase, leading to G2/M cell-cycle block, disruption of mitotic spindles, and ultimately apoptotic cell death. This combination targets both hormonal and cell division pathways in breast cancer treatment.
