Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination therapy consisting of aromatase inhibitors (anastrozole or exemestane) with saracatinib (AZD0530), a dual Src/Abl kinase inhibitor. This combination was studied for hormone receptor-positive metastatic breast cancer in postmenopausal women, with the aim of preventing or overcoming endocrine resistance. Saracatinib enhances the anti-proliferative effect of endocrine agents in breast cancer models and also inhibits bone resorption via osteoclast activity.
