ANB033 is a novel monoclonal antibody that acts as an antagonist of CD122, the shared beta subunit of the interleukin-15 (IL-15) and interleukin-2 (IL-2) receptors. By targeting CD122, ANB033 potently inhibits IL-15 and IL-2 signaling pathways, which are critical for the proliferation and survival of natural killer (NK) cells and certain T cell subsets, particularly pathogenic CD8+ T cells. The drug is designed to preferentially inhibit the lower affinity dimeric IL-2 receptor complex found on pathogenic effector T cells while sparing regulatory T cells (Tregs), which express a higher affinity trimeric IL-2 receptor complex. This selective inhibition aims to reduce disease-causing immune cell populations while preserving immune regulation by Tregs. Developed by AnaptysBio, ANB033 is being investigated primarily for autoimmune diseases and inflammation[1][4][5].
