Overview

Anbainuo is a biosimilar to etanercept, developed and manufactured in China. It is a recombinant human tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) receptor II fused to the Fc portion of human IgG1, forming a fusion protein that acts as a TNF inhibitor. By binding and neutralizing TNF-α, Anbainuo reduces inflammation and immune-mediated tissue damage. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and ankylosing spondylitis (AS), especially in patients who are unresponsive to conventional disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs). The drug was first approved in China in 2015. Clinical studies have demonstrated its efficacy both as monotherapy and in combination with methotrexate for RA[1][2][3][4].
