ANC-501

ANC-501 is an investigational small molecule drug developed as a selective vasopressin V1b receptor antagonist. It is being studied primarily for the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD), particularly in patients with biomarker-confirmed disruption of their stress-response system and elevated baseline cortisol levels. The mechanism of action involves antagonism of the vasopressin V1b receptor, which plays a role in regulating the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis and stress response. By blocking this receptor, ANC-501 aims to modulate abnormal HPA axis activity associated with depression.
