Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AndoSanTM is a proprietary, orally administered liquid mushroom extract primarily composed of Agaricus blazei Murill (AbM) (82.4%), along with Hericium erinaceus (14.7%) and Grifola frondosa (2.9%). [1, 2, 3, 7, 8] It is positioned as a nutraceutical or dietary supplement with immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory properties. [2] Clinical studies have investigated its potential to alleviate symptoms in patients with inflammatory bowel diseases, such as ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. [3, 5] Research suggests it works by reducing levels of various pro-inflammatory cytokines, although the complete mechanism of action is not fully understood. [1] It has also been examined for its effects on cancer-related fatigue and in patients with multiple myeloma. [1, 4, 10] The product was developed by ACE Co. Ltd. in Japan and is commercialized by Immunopharma AS in Norway. [1, 3, 6]
