Overview
Lianbizhi injection is a semi-synthetic diterpenoid lactone derivative, specifically andrographolide sulfonate, derived from the medicinal herb *Andrographis paniculata* (Chuanxinlian). Widely used in China, it possesses potent anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, and anti-infective activities. The drug is traditionally indicated for the treatment of respiratory tract infections, pneumonia, and bacillary dysentery. More recently, it has been investigated in Phase 4 clinical trials as a treatment for dengue fever, where it is evaluated for its ability to shorten the duration of fever and mitigate inflammatory responses. Its mechanism of action involves the inhibition of the NF-κB signaling pathway and the suppression of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α and IL-6.
