Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AneCream5 is an over-the-counter (OTC) topical anesthetic cream developed by Focus Health Group. It contains 5% lidocaine as its active ingredient. The drug functions by blocking voltage-gated sodium channels, which inhibits the initiation and conduction of nerve impulses, thereby providing local numbness and pain relief. It is specifically indicated for the temporary relief of local discomfort, pain, itching, soreness, or burning associated with anorectal disorders on normal intact skin. The product was first marketed in December 2011.
