Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Animal early embryo extract (designated ceAF) is a cell-free biologic preparation derived from early chick embryo amniotic fluid. It contains native growth-promoting factors and inflammatory factor inhibitors. Unlike direct embryonic stem cell therapies, ceAF is cell-free, which avoids tumorigenic risks and sourcing limitations while retaining biological activity. Developed by HygeianCells BioMedical, ceAF is being evaluated in clinical trials for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis via intra-articular injection. Preclinical studies have also demonstrated its potential in wound healing by promoting M2 macrophage polarization and transient senescence.
