Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Ankaferd Blood Stopper** is a locally applied Turkish herbal hemostatic medicine comprising standardized extracts from five plants: *Thymus vulgaris*, *Glycyrrhiza glabra*, *Vitis vinifera*, *Alpinia officinarum*, and *Urtica dioica*. It is intended to control bleeding by rapidly producing an encapsulated protein network at the bleeding site that promotes erythrocyte aggregation; this effect is reported to involve fibrinogen-associated protein interactions rather than direct correction of individual coagulation-factor deficiencies. The product has been approved and licensed in Turkey for management of external hemorrhage and bleeding during dental procedures, and it has been studied or used locally in surgical, dental, gastrointestinal, and epistaxis-related bleeding settings.
