Overview
Anluohuaxian is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) compound formula primarily used for the treatment of liver fibrosis and cirrhosis, particularly those resulting from chronic hepatitis B (CHB). It is composed of several herbal ingredients, including *Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae* (Danshen), *Astragalus membranaceus* (Huangqi), *Panax notoginseng* (Sanqi), and *Curcuma zedoaria* (Ezhu). The formula is designed to resolve blood stasis, invigorate blood flow, and soften the liver. Pharmacological studies indicate that Anluohuaxian exerts anti-fibrotic effects by modulating the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR) signaling pathway, regulating fatty acid metabolism, and inhibiting ferroptosis. Beyond its established use in hepatology, it has been investigated in clinical trials for its potential to mitigate pulmonary fibrosis and improve lung function in patients recovering from COVID-19.
