Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Anluohuaxian Pill is a proprietary Chinese patent medicine composed of a variety of traditional Chinese herbal ingredients. It has been widely used in China for over 15 years, primarily for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients with advanced liver fibrosis or cirrhosis[1][3]. The pill is also being investigated for its potential to treat pulmonary fibrosis, including that associated with severe COVID-19[2]. Its mechanism is based on traditional Chinese medicine principles and it is believed to exert anti-fibrotic effects, possibly by modulating cytokine pathways and reducing fibrogenesis in hepatic and pulmonary tissues. Clinical studies have evaluated its efficacy both as monotherapy and in combination with standard antiviral therapies such as entecavir[1][3].
