Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Anmeimuximab (SY001) is a recombinant, fully human monoclonal antibody targeting the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). Developed by Shanghai Sylon Biotechnology, it is designed to treat various advanced solid tumors, including colorectal cancer, head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, and non-small cell lung cancer. By binding to the extracellular domain of EGFR, anmeimuximab competitively inhibits the binding of ligands such as epidermal growth factor (EGF) and transforming growth factor-alpha (TGF-α). This blockade prevents receptor dimerization and subsequent activation of downstream signaling cascades, including the RAS/MAPK, PI3K/AKT, and JAK/STAT pathways, which are essential for tumor cell proliferation, survival, and angiogenesis. Anmeimuximab is currently undergoing Phase I clinical evaluation in China to assess its safety, pharmacokinetics, and preliminary efficacy in patients with refractory solid tumors who have failed standard therapies.
