Annao pills

Annao pills (安脑丸) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) composed of multiple ingredients including artificial bezoar, pig bile powder, cinnabar, borneol, buffalo horn concentrated powder, pearl, Scutellaria baicalensis, Coptis chinensis, Gardenia jasminoides, realgar, Curcuma, gypsum, ochre, mother of pearl, and menthol. It is indicated for conditions characterized by high fever, coma, irritability, delirium, convulsions, seizures, apoplectic coma, headache, and dizziness, particularly those associated with hypertension and cerebral stroke. Its traditional functions include clearing heat and detoxifying, refreshing the brain and calming the nerves, resolving phlegm and opening orifices, and suppressing convulsions and extinguishing wind. It is currently being investigated in clinical trials for the treatment of headache of anger-scrambling syndrome.
