Annexin A8 siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the expression of the Annexin A8 (ANXA8) gene. Annexin A8 is a member of the annexin family of calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding proteins, which are involved in various cellular processes including vesicle trafficking, cell signaling, and growth regulation. In the context of pancreatic cancer, Annexin A8 has been identified as a gene associated with tumor differentiation and a potential prognostic marker; high expression levels correlate with poor survival outcomes in early-stage patients. Mechanistic studies using Annexin A8 siRNA in pancreatic cancer cell lines, such as BXPC-3, have demonstrated that knockdown of this protein leads to significant reductions in cell viability, migration, and colony formation, suggesting that Annexin A8 plays a critical role in tumor progression and could serve as a viable therapeutic target.
