Annona cherimola extract is a botanical research compound derived from the seeds and other parts of the *Annona cherimola* Mill. plant, commonly known as cherimoya. The extract is characterized by its content of bioactive Annonaceous acetogenins (ACGs), which are potent secondary metabolites known to inhibit mitochondrial complex I. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that the extract possesses significant anti-cancer properties, particularly against acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and head and neck cancer cell lines. Its mechanism of action involves the induction of apoptosis through both intrinsic and extrinsic pathways, often associated with the upregulation of pro-apoptotic proteins such as BAX.
