Overview

Anocca's p53 TCR-T cell therapy is an investigational autologous cell therapy utilizing T-cell receptor (TCR) engineered T cells. These cells are modified to express specific TCRs that recognize and bind to mutant p53 neoantigens presented by Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) complexes on the surface of tumor cells. The p53 protein is a critical tumor suppressor that is mutated in over 50% of all human cancers, making it a highly prevalent target for immunotherapy. Anocca's program includes TCRs optimized to target specific hotspot mutations, such as the R175H mutation in the context of HLA-A*02, as well as other mutant p53 epitopes. Upon recognition of the target peptide-MHC complex, the engineered T cells are activated to mediate direct, antigen-specific lysis of the cancer cells while avoiding healthy cells that express wild-type p53.
