Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Flurbiprofen axetil is an intravenous non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) and a prodrug of flurbiprofen. It is formulated as a lipid microsphere injection to enhance its distribution to surgical sites and inflamed tissues while minimizing vascular irritation. The drug acts by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, primarily COX-1 and COX-2, thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins involved in pain and inflammation. In the context of postoperative care, it is used to manage acute pain, reduce opioid consumption, and facilitate early recovery. The brand Anrekefen is developed by Huarui Pharmaceutical and has been studied for its efficacy in improving recovery scores (such as QoR-15) and reducing postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) in patients undergoing gynecological laparoscopic surgery.
