Overview

Ansa is a combination product formulated as a sachet containing three active pharmaceutical ingredients: Vaccinium macrocarpon (commonly known as cranberry), Saraca indica, and Cimicifuga racemosa. It has been developed primarily for the prevention and treatment of uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTIs) in females. The rationale behind this combination is to leverage the anti-adhesive properties of cranberry against uropathogens like Escherichia coli, while Saraca indica and Cimicifuga racemosa are included for their potential to normalize hormonal levels, which may help reduce recurrent UTIs especially in peri-menopausal and menopausal women. The product is being evaluated in clinical trials for its efficacy compared to other UTI preventive therapies[1][6].
