Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Anseren is a benzodiazepine anxiolytic medication containing the active ingredient ketazolam. Marketed by Phoenix Laboratories, it acts as a positive allosteric modulator of the GABA-A receptor at the benzodiazepine binding site. By enhancing the inhibitory effects of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), it produces anxiolytic, sedative, and muscle-relaxant effects. Anseren is primarily indicated for the treatment of anxiety, tension, and associated somatic or psychiatric symptoms, as well as severe or disabling insomnia. It is available in oral capsule formulations (15 mg, 30 mg, and 45 mg) and is marketed in several European countries, including Italy and Ireland.
