Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Anshen Diwan is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) product developed by Tianjin Tasly Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., primarily indicated for the treatment of insomnia and related symptoms such as anxiety, restlessness, and dizziness. It is formulated as "dripping pills" (diwan), a modern TCM dosage form designed to enhance the solubility and bioavailability of herbal extracts. The preparation typically contains a combination of herbs including *Semen Ziziphi Spinosae* (Suanzaoren), *Radix Polygalae* (Yuanzhi), *Poria cocos* (Fuling), and *Gardenia jasminoides* (Zhizi). These components are traditionally used to nourish the heart, soothe the liver, and calm the nerves. Pharmacologically, Anshen Diwan is thought to exert its sedative and hypnotic effects by modulating the central nervous system, particularly through the enhancement of GABAergic signaling and the regulation of neurotransmitters such as serotonin and dopamine. It is widely utilized in China as a regulated pharmaceutical for sleep disorders.
