Drug intelligence / Profile preview
antago-tRF-21 is an antagomir (antisense oligonucleotide) designed to target and inhibit tRNA-derived fragment tRF-21 [P0995]. In renal cell carcinoma (RCC), tRF-21 is highly expressed and contributes to an immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME) by binding to DAZAP1, preventing its deacetylation by SIRT2, and promoting its nuclear translocation [P0995]. This activates CXCL1 transcription, leading to the recruitment of polymorphonuclear myeloid-derived suppressor cells (PMN-MDSCs) and subsequent tumor immune evasion [P0995]. By targeting tRF-21, antago-tRF-21 reduces PMN-MDSC accumulation, suppresses tumor growth, and enhances the efficacy of immunotherapy, such as anti-PD-1 therapy [P0995].
