antagomir-1204 (also known as hsa-miR-1204 antagomir) is a chemically-modified antisense oligonucleotide designed to specifically hybridize with and inhibit mature microRNA-1204 (miR-1204). It features phosphorothioate modifications, 2'-O-methyl (2'-methoxy) modifications, and a 3' cholesterol conjugate to enhance stability, cellular uptake, and in vivo activity. In preclinical research, antagomir-1204 has been investigated for its ability to inhibit cell proliferation and induce apoptosis in PVT1-amplified ovarian and breast cancer cell lines, where miR-1204 is typically overexpressed and acts as an oncogene.
