Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Anthocyanin complex (AC) is a formulation primarily composed of extracts from purple waxy corn and blue butterfly pea petals, sometimes with the addition of turmeric extract. It is investigated for its therapeutic potential, including enhancing anthocyanin stability, antioxidant capacity, anti-inflammatory effects, and promoting wound healing. AC has also demonstrated anti-cholangiocarcinoma activities and can improve the efficacy of drug treatment in gemcitabine-resistant cell lines. It can be formulated into niosomes to enhance delivery and therapeutic effects, particularly for topical applications.
